The Zanesville Artist Colony proudly introduces...the 2009 Y-Bridge Arts Festival. During the 48 hours our famous Y-Bridge is closed to general traffic, its spans are transformed into a stunning outdoor art gallery as the nation's top artists display their work and attract art enthusiasts from all over the region. So Much to Do... The Y-Bridge Arts Festival, held on the First Friday and Saturday of August, 2009, features fantastic gourmet fare from some of the city's finest local restaurants, live concerts, hands-on art activities and more. In addition to hosting local artists, this event will attract nationally acclaimed artists and fine craftspeople to live and work in our historic downtown. A Distinctive Identity... We propose utilizing the Y-Bridge (the only bridge exactly like it in the world) to provide this arts festival with an immediate and distinctive identity, a distinctive setting, as well as international recognition. Once our festival is established, it has the potential to infuse additional tourist dollars into the local economy as well as achieve national recognition for our historic city. A Community Invites... The Y-Bridge Arts Festival provides a wonderful opportunity to draw thousands of visitors to Zanesville and supporting an
event on this scale clearly highlights the city’s commitment to revitalize its downtown through the arts. Volunteers will assist in organizing every aspect of the festival as well as seeking state and local grants, sponsors and
underwriters. |
